I got a more detailed and less hot woodburning pen last night. I do gain more control by using this pen and I can do much finer lines. Here are 3 little 2" by 3" pieces from experimenting the new pen.
Woodburning plaques used to be something that grandma picked up at a flea market with a whole bottle of shelac on poured it. You've turned it into a real art form. Good on ya!!!!
Gina: I need to experiment on adding colors to these, or maybe just stain them to make them darker? I've never done woodburning before; it's still very new to me! :)
Peter... they are just regular wood from the craft store. Didn't really say what kind of wood on the package though. They are pretty thin and not hard.
hey, fun! looks like you're really having fun with these flora :) great that you found a finer woodburning tool, too. it definitely makes a difference.
I like your line and your sweet characters!

ReplyDeleteVery nice fine lines. The new pen seems to be working much better for you.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I like your mom's bag a lot; her work is meticulously lovely as usual (button flowers- what a cute idea)! :)
OH nice work Flora! This sound too much fun!!

These are really lovely, I especially like the one far left. Are you thinking of painting/staining these at all or just leaving them natural?
