Woodburning + Retro Kid Flickr Pool + Javier
I tried woodburning for the very first time during the weekend. I think my burner is too hot (950 degree F) and it burns really really fast... I need to shop for a temperature controller so I can adjust it and maybe have better control over the lines. But so far I like it; it feels like drawing on wood. If you have any suggestions please let me know! :)
Also, remember to take a look at the Retro Kid Flickr pool that has thousands of images contributed by people around the world. What a great source of inspiration!
And then, this is not really related to doodling or anything... but please allow me to just say this: isn't Javier Bardem the most adorable man ever? For some reason I totally missed the Oscar, but my co-worker showed me this clip and I just think it's so sweet that he brought his mom as his date. Now I really want to watch No Country for Old Men. He is HOT!

Tagged: Show My Workspace + Love and Peace Meme
I got tagged by my sweet friend Christine to show my workspace. At first I was like, "OH NO! My space is so messy... there is crap everywhere; should I clean it first?", then I thought I should just keep it as is to show the real thing. So here they are; click to see bigger images:
This is my home studio (the embarrassingly messy one). I don't work at that big table too much, only when I need to. (Especially it's always freezing cold in the winter since it's right next to the patio door... very drafty, I just doodle on my couch or in bed instead.) Behind that table is my computer desk; that's when I blog and do my digital works.
The second group of photos are my space at work, my full time job. I am here 80% of the time and I do lots of works (which I can't post on my blog). I really love my office; it's warm, it has great lighting, plus there are people around me all the time that I can chat and joke with while I work. I try really hard to keep this little space neat and clean.
Here are some stuff I display in my office...
Now I'm usually hesitant when it comes to tag other people since everybody's so busy, but it's so fun and inspiring to look at another artist's workspace, so I am gonna tag three people; hopefully they will want to play along. I tag: Bob, Maura and Kelly. Guys, it's up to you if you want to play along and if you want to tag other people! : )
I've also been tagged by Zari (who created this beautiful image and message) and Aspa on this Love and Peace meme. But instead of tagging other people, I would just ask all of you who's reading this to take some time to think about love and peace, pray for countries that are facing troubles and for those people you love and those you don’t. We are all in this world together, as one big family.

Sweet Pea has given me the You Made My Day award on her blog... Sorry Sweet Pea, I should've gotten back with you sooner! Thank you so much! XOXO

Hobo and The Mysterious Creature + A wild Party
Last night we had a combined birthday party for two of our dear girlfriends. One of them is Mimi (yup... the muse of the "Chomp Chomp Chicken") and Mimi LOVES hobos, so I drew this birthday card for her! We had Greek food in a restaurant called Tasso's, and man, I have no words to describe my experience cause there were just too much going on! On top of the flaming cheese and awesome food, you got breaking plates, staff yelling "Opa!" every few minutes, live guitar and keyboard playing music from traditional Greek tunes to Abba's "Dancing Queen", a hobo man named "JazzBo" (as a Jazz Hobo) palying a trumpet and a big conch shell... and best of all, a belly dancer dancing her way in between the tables! Wow... it was crazy but we all had a fun night!
More Bags from Mommy
My mom has been taking quilting lesson, and she just sent me photos of new bags she made, so I'd like to share them with you. I especially love the third one with flowers on it. It looks like it could be an Anthropologie bag.
It is Chinese New Year over there; the year of rat. I'd like to wish my family and you all a happy and healthy new year to come! xo

I Hate Double-Faced Backstabber...
Sorry friends... this is not gonna be a happy post. since I can't vent it in the office, at least I can vent at my own blog.
What would you do if you know for real that somebody has been hurting your best buddy at work behind his back for the sake of that person's own interests, but you can't say anything because everybody else thinks the backstabber is the nicest and most genuine person ever? It's killing me, but because my friend really wants to forgive, plus I want to protect my friend, I just have to tie my tongue. But if I hear one more person praises that guy one more time (which I don't blame them cause they have no idea), I am seriously going to throw up! I just really want to warm my other friends to keep a safe distance with that person, because you don't know when it's gonna be your turn to get bitten... But what can I say? Office politics... I just HATE it!!!
