Friendship

A quick doodle to accompany an amazing clip my friend sent me earlier. The background of the clip is like this: Several years ago a lady found a sick, malnourished lion cub in the jungle. She took the cub home and fed him and brought him up until he was too big to keep anymore. Then she made arrangements with a zoo in Colombia to take the lion. My friend sent me this clip from YouTube. These two are holding hands!!! It's just too sweet to not share it with you guys! Aren't otters the cutest?

Look What I've Got

I recently bought this amazingly beautiful suitcase from pixiegenné's Etsy shop. It was the last one in her shop and I just had to get it before it was gone. It is so well made, decoupaged with images from vintage children's books, and it looks so good and I have to put it in my office to admire it everyday. For this week's topic, I chose to do a tiny woodburning piece since that's what I've been doing during the past couple of days. And yup, the Mysterious Creature is back...

Coloring Experiment

I tried coloring a woodburning circle I did last night. I used Tombo ABT pens. I like them cause they have dual tips and the brush tips make it very easy to color little areas. I guess I will need to spray the wood with matt varnish if I want to seal the colors.

3 Little Woodburnings

I got a more detailed and less hot woodburning pen last night. I do gain more control by using this pen and I can do much finer lines. Here are 3 little 2" by 3" pieces from experimenting the new pen.

Flower Basket Bag from My Mom

My mom sent me the photo of her latest bag. I really like this one... I think it's such a cute format with an inner pouch that is closed by pull strings (those little pulls are stuffed fabric balls) and the flowers are actually buttons!

Little Wood Circles

Little 1.5" wood circles. This wood is harder so I can work a little slower. I am off to the store now to see if they have a finer tip for woodburning.

PS: Today we have the perfect weather... super windy, but really nice and warm. Unfortunately, it will be gone by tomorrow, but at least today it's nice. I want spring!!!

Birdies Woodburning

Just a really quick woodburning this morning, with some birdies on a 2.5" by 3.5" wood. I had more control this time but I still had to work super fast with no hesitation. I think I might need to invest in a better equipment, but boy, they are not cheap...
