I Hate Copycat!!!

Love Child of 3 Trends

Well... It finally happened to me. A Flickr friend told me that she saw a T-shirt in Korea with my mustache owl design on it, and she wrote me and asked if I am aware of this. Of course I am not! But what can I do? I am wondering if she could take a photo and show it to me. Sign... Looks like I have to start blocking people on Flickr, especially people who has no photos to share, who have not added any favorites photos from other Flickr, but at the same time keep adding other people to their contact list. (But even though I know it won't stop them from copying other people's artworks...)

So sad that people are copying work from designers!!! I think it's indeed difficult to do something about this... you reach 'good' people with internet, but also 'not so good' people...
But never let it stop you from doing your lovely work!! :)

Doesn't that make you feel violated?! You make something out of love and you share it (because sharing is caring right?!) and then they take it from you. How ruuude!

That is total BALLS. It's too bad there's pretty much no way to do anything about it. Except maybe counter it with your own Vampire Owl with a Moustache t-shirt.

I would buy one!

It's just so sad that we artists can't avoid these sorts of things. By the way I simple LOVE all your work and the little doodles. :)

Sign... I know, there is really nothing we can do, especially when they are in another country. I think they know that too that's why stuff like this keep happening. I can only say what goes around comes around. Meanwhile, I hope my Flickr friend will be able to get some photos of the shirt and show me.

Oh poo. I am really sorry to hear that happened to you. Especially when you create such wonderful art, to have it stolen and sold. :( It is a huge shame that people do that. They are the ones without any level of creativity at all, when the artist is the genius. :D

*hugs*

Ugh. So sorry that you have to experience this kinda stuff. Well at least you still have a good friend to inform you about the copycat. I know, people think of flickr and deviant art pages are free image source, no, they're not. grrrrr.

I hope you can straight things out soon.

How awful for you Flora. They should be ashamed of themselves for stealing.

It's terrible isn't it. I have started putting a big copyright symbol across artworks I put on the web. i hat that i have to do it, but you have to protect your artwork!

I know. I hate to do that, too. Truth is, if someone really wants to steal your work, a big copyright symbol is not gonna stop them.

If you find out who took the design, will you contact them?

I'd try even though I know that probably wouldn't do too much good anyway. But at least I can submit it to the youthoughtwewouldntnotice.com to let people know about it.
