Puppies in Paris

My friend has a client in France who needs a couple of cute puppy artworks to put on his souvenir products for babies, so he turned to me for help. Here are my initial designs and they might do whatever tweaks needed down the line. Do they look French to you?

Corina, I agree with you. I did think of doing a poodle, too. Right now I am just gonna wait. If that gentleman wants a poodle then I will do another one!

if you need a french advice, here I am !
they are as cute as france is in foreign people's mind. how i wish they could be real...
-france is much more sad and dirty;)
but it's a great job that you client should appreciate.

I know and I love the sad + dirty part of France, otherwise I wouldn't take French in college. But since these are products for tourists so maybe it's ok, hopefullu... : )
By the way, one of my all-time favorite movie is Amelie... : )

personally, I think there is more energy and personality in the line drawing pieces, and these guys tend to look too Hallmarky

I have no problem making stuff that look "too Hallmarky"... They are after all consumer products. Even though I didn't get paid for helping out, I still want the client to be able to sell as much as possible.

Plus, really, you can call anything that are less alternative as "too Hallmarky"... I like doing both styles, commercial and alternavie. I am ok if you have problem with it. We are all entitled to have our own opinions.

So cute! Definitely captures that French "je ne sais quoi."
